OUR ROLE
Ensure that all residents of Norfolk are able to have proximate, affordable, and available food
Engage with residents representing all areas of need
Gather feedback from the community, with a focus on Norfolk’s most at-risk communities, to determine needs as well as desires for solutions
Make food system resources, funding, educational, and support opportunities known and available to broader community
Strengthen and connect existing efforts
Create communication channels that allow grassroot, action-oriented, community organizations, businesses, and the City of Norfolk staff to improve their efforts
Serve as a platform for citizens of Norfolk to voice concerns, needs, and priorities around topics of food, as well as voice desires for solutions
Work to address the food needs identified by citizens and those working in areas of the food system
Facilitate community engaged research
Identify policy opportunities around food, and recommend to the City of Norfolk
Foster open dialogue and feedback from citizens through community events, social media outlets, and relationship building
Speak to your Norfolk City Councilmember about the importance of food access for all in Norfolk. (Email templates below.)

WHO WE ARE
We are a collective of individuals from the City of Norfolk that have come together to help increase food access for the citizens in the city. We are focused on the places that lack the most and expanding out to make sure we are the most proactive and effective with our efforts. We are made up of community members, organizations and businesses that see a problem and want to work together to solve it.
